Generally the only thing that goes through the tubing is air. So it shouldn't't need to be cleaned. But what may happen is that when you washed the other accessories they may have been wet when you started the pump up again. I'm using oxygen through your company. I can't remember what to do if my power goes out. Right now Iâm on 2lpm.

When the power to your home is cut off, the oxygen concentration machine will start beeping turn off the oxygen machine to stop the beep, with a flash light find your back up tank (which can be one of your portable tanks) and make sure it is set on your proper liter flow. If the power remains off for a long period of time you may have to call Hackley Healthcare Equipment to get extra tanks. Be sure to call before you run completely out of oxygen. At 2lpm an E tank (the portable tank on a cart) will last 4 hours, a large cylinder (one you cant move) will last 52 hours at 2lpm.

I am an oxygen patient and currently on 2lpm. I notice on some occasions I realize I'm breathing through my mouth instead of my nose. Am I still getting the right amount of oxygen?

Continuous flow nasal oxygen will flow up the nasal cavity and to the back of the throat. When a breath is taken in through the mouth, the oxygen is drawn from the nasal cavity getting the oxygen in the lungs. This can be demonstrated by holding your nose shut while breathing in through your mouth. Notice a change in the amount of air you can draw in.

I have oxygen from your company and my current prescription is 3lpm. I am using distilled water with my oxygen machine and my nose is still dry. What can I do?

Using distilled water for the humidifier jar(bubbler) is a good start - also use normal saline spray for your nose twice a day (an over the counter saline spray with no medication works well).

My uncle is coming to visit us for 2 weeks. He has a bad hip and cannot walk long distances. Can I rent a wheelchair for 2 weeks? Can you bill my uncles Medicare?

Yes, we will rent a wheelchair for two weeks. Our charge is $25.00 per week for a standard wheelchair and a major credit card is required in case the chair is never returned. If medicare is currently paying for or has paid for a wheelchair recently they will not pay us for a wheelchair. The only way medicare will cover a wheelchair is if they need that chair inside the home as well as outside and is using it at least 4 hours a day. In order for medicare to pay a prescription a certificate of medical necessity is required. If the patient lives outside of Michigan, permanent address is required so billing to the correct region can be done.

I AM ON 2LPM OF OXYGEN RIGHT NOW AND I WAS TOLD BY A FRIEND THAT NOW YOU HAVE THESE REAL SMALL TANKS I BELIEVE THEY ARE CALLED M6\'S WOULD I NEED A DIFFERENT REGULATOR IN ORDER TO RECEIVE ONE OF THOSE KIND OF PORTABLE TANK ENQUIRING?

To reap all the advantages from this system, Patients need to be evaluated for a special regulator called a conservor. This regulator helps to make the supply of oxygen last longer by only giving oxygen when a breath is taken. If you are interested, please call and ask for a visit from a respiratory therapist.
